Today, April 13, we are thanking our craft professionals across the country for all they do by purchasing and sharing a meal with them. Enjoying a meal with our craft team members is a genuine and impactful way to let our teams know how much we value them. It’s also a great chance to include them as key members of our team.
During the coming weeks, job sites will receive two “Proud to Build” t-shirts for each craft employee. We want our craft employees to represent McCarthy, Castle and Paul Hansen proudly. As you hand the shirts out, please take time to thank each craft professional for choosing to work with us. Use this opportunity to let them know how much we appreciate having them on our team.

The Mayhill Road team set the final ten beams on span 5 of the bridge. This is a significant milestone for the project and the Civil Business Unit. The jobsite logistics and weight of the beams (130,000 lbs) required the use of a 330-ton crawler crane. One of many challenges the team faced during this operation included protecting an inconveniently placed 27” raw water line installed over 50 years ago. Additionally, the crews were required to pause every 20 minutes to allow the DCTA passenger train to pass safely. Our amazing craft professionals rose to the occasion each and every night, undeterred by the complexity of this work. A HUGE shoutout to everyone involved in keeping this operation running smoothly, safely, and efficiently! ESPAÑOL Uno de los muchos desafíos que enfrentó el equipo durante esta operación incluyó proteger una línea de agua cruda de 27” instalada en un lugar inconveniente hace más de 50 años. Además, se requirió que las tripulaciones hicieran una pausa cada 20 minutos para permitir que el tren de pasajeros DCTA pasara de manera segura. Nuestros increíbles profesionales mano de obra estuvieron a la altura de las circunstancias todas y cada una de las noches, sin inmutarse por la complejidad de este trabajo. ¡Un ENORME agradecimiento a todos los involucrados en mantener esta operación funcionando sin problemas, de manera segura y eficiente!
